STAY STRONG, BEREAVED WOMAN

Often times I wonder why we go through so much pains than not most especially from the loss of one's partner as a woman.

Take for instance in some igbo traditions, a woman is expected to even go through drinking bathing water from the husbands corpse to prove she has no hand in the death of her husband.

Yet, there are so many outrageous conditions placed before her to prove her innocence, some are made to cross the husbands corpse, others are locked in a room with the dead corpse for a nigth, others are even taken to shrines to swore an oath.

I wonder why any one would want to remain a widow, to live alone and take care of the children all by herself with the mindset of killing her partner for reasons best known to her.

Our society attributes alot to a woman either because the man is wealthy, a  chronic cheat or a pathogenical lair, a violence man or otherwise, whatever the reason is not enough reason to take the life of any one.

Its high time we stop this barbaric and wicked tradition of subjecting woman to this gravious acts in the name of killing her husband, if she actually did, its better we allow her face the law than taking the law in our hands or better still allow karma to take its cause.

Some of these woman are thrown out of their homes, many are ripped off of all the asset they owe and most especially they undergo emotional and physiology pains unlimited to count.

It more than enough to loss a partner, coupled with what most family put them through, no sane soul wants to be subjected to pains, yet we see conditions given to someone who is grieving the loss of a dear partner, won't it better we allow these women be?

Lets learn to speak up for them. Stand in gap for them and shun all forms of injustice in our time, no one wants his daugther or sister to undergo the type of pain they subject these women to.

Our world can be lighted with hopes for the bereaved and for the deceased, peace for their souls knowing that they family they left behind is at least safe.

Just almost when i got to the food stuff sellers shop, she also arrived, carrying Agege bread on her head, looking so hagged and hungry. If you understand that life comes in phases, you wont be bothered by what happens around you so keenly So many things are enough to make you feel less a person, when you allow them take hold of you. There are catalyst who propels you to go out of your way to see that things are done or better still satisfy people and contents, yet we also have pressures who forces you to do things out of your will power to satisfy personal self or a greedy community.
